Teekkari cap
Anyone who has collected enough stamps in their freshman pass and completed the Eldprowet is entitled to receive their teekkari cap at the Wappu cap ceremony. This black-tufted headgear becomes the best friend of a teekkari, by which a tekkari is commonly recognised. The cap may be worn from the 1st of May to the 30th of September, in cases specified in the permanent rules, and in special cases by decision of Teekkarikomissio (the umbrella association representing all the teekkari student associations).
Nucleus orders teekkari caps once a year at the beginning of spring. The caps are handmade by E.R. Wahlmann .
The right to wear the student cap is also granted upon graduating as a Master of Science in Technology.
Permanent rules
The right to wear the teekkaricap is in effect in the following occasions:
- Teekkari cap fittings for freshmen
- Kirkkari events
- Choir and orchestra performances in which everyone should wear the Finnish graduation cap
- Lippuairueessa toimiville ja kulkueissa, joissa kaikille kuuluu asusteeksi teekkari- tai ylioppilaslakki
- High school presentations
- RekomBIOnation events
- TiTeenin Taisto (The clash of the TiTens) events
- National jäynä (practical joke) competition and other events organized by TEK in which the Finnish student cap is worn
- Official Wappu magazine sales event
In addition, every student graduating as a Master of Science in Technology from the University of Turku or from Åbo Akademi has a personal right to wear the teekkari cap for their own graduation day and graduation celebrations.
Overalls
The students' dresscode is overalls, which protect against various incidents.
Nucleus' overalls stand out from the crowd. Blue overalls with orange advertisements and with the beautiful Nucleus logo certainly catch the eye. Nucleus overalls are ordered in the autumn, and freshmen receive them around November or December. Nucleus also has its own overall ceremony tradition, where the overalls are inaugurated for use.
