Teekkarius is an essential part of Nucleus' activities. Our goal is to bring more Finnish teekkari culture to Turku. Our activities certainly don't just involve collaborating with other teekkari Guilds; our events are highly interdisciplinary.
You can easily recognise our Guild members by the distinctive blue overalls depicted in the photograph, along with the splendid Turku tassel hat atop their heads!
Nucleus ry was founded in the spring of 2008 as the student association for biotechnology engineering students at the University of Turku. Our membership is active, and we offer activities to suit various tastes. Nucleus is actively involved in both student advocacy matters and leisure activities. We maintain communication with the faculty staff and participate in initiatives such as the education development working group.
Nucleus ry serves its members in various ways. In the autumn, our tutors welcome new students and assist them at the beginning of their student journey. Many believe that studying should involve more than just books, which is why our association plans various parties and events annually.
Collaboration with other student associations has been considered from the outset, and it is best manifested through the organising of several student events. Nucleus collaborates in organising events both with other student organisations in Turku and with those in other cities. Annually, Nucleus participates in the RekomBIOnaatio event, a joint event for biotechnology students!
Interdisciplinary activities are evident both in studies and outside the lecture halls. In the background, Tekniikan akateemiset TEK, which handles members' labor market advocacy at both individual and workplace levels nationally and internationally, can be seen and has an impact.
